Things Mike has been harassing me to post

Every time Sydney does something cute, Mike tells me to go post it on the forum. I never seem to get around to it. So here is a hodge-podge of cuteness that has been building up over the last week or two.
Crawling: Sydney is crawling now! Yay! But of course it's not normal crawling. No, our baby can't do anything the easy way. She will sit with her legs splayed and put both hands down on the floor in front of her. Then she'll lunge forward and get up on one knee with the other leg straight out to the side. Then she'll rotate the bent leg around 360 degrees, passing through the splits position as she does. This propels her forward, but it's incredibly awkward. Shortly after she started doing it, I picked her up from daycare and one of the teachers asked me, "What's up with that crawl?" And then the next day, the person working in the front office said, "I saw Sydney crawl today.....hmmmm....yep. Uh-huh. That's a crawl, alright." Our baby's crawl is so weird that the daycare teachers, who have seen tons of babies, don't know what to make of it!
Solid food: Sydney is doing a lot better on solid foods now. She loves feeding herself finger foods. I think we are going to be done with the pureed baby food soon. She is even eating the regular lunch at school now. Tonight we tried frozen veggies. I wanted to find a way to get fruits and veggies into her once she is done with the purees. I microwaved a small portion of mixed veggies and put them on her highchair tray so she could feed herself. She really liked the peas and corn, although the corn husks got stuck in her mouth and she couldn't figure out how to swallow them. The green beans didn't go so well. They were just too tough for her to chew and I finally had to extract them from her mouth.
Bike riding: I finally got a baby seat for my bike! Sydney and I both love it. She babbles to herself as we ride along, and she is very aware of everything that is happening around us, especially when we see an animal. There are some bike pictures in this week's installment of Sydney pics.
