Repeating and Mimicking

Sydney is now picking up language quickly. The other day while playing with Meghan in the basement, she dumped something out on the floor and then exclaimed “Oh my god! It’s a pile.” Meghan explained that it wasn’t polite to say “Oh my god!” and asked Sydney where she had heard it. Sydney replied, “Mommy said it.” Oops. Since then I’ve caught both of us saying it.
Other new phrases that Sydney has picked up include:
I be right back
I be back in a minute
Just a minute
In a little while
The use of the word “too” – Like “Dad eat pancakes. I eat pancakes too”.
Sydney has also taken to trying to imitate Meghan. When sitting on the couch or laying on the floor, Sydney will attempt to position herself exactly the same way that Meghan is sitting/laying. Meghan shifts and then Sydney shifts.
